ACP vs PU metal awning: which is better for a Malaysian house?
By Eave · 27 Oct 2026

ACP for the front of the house, PU metal for the back. Installed in the Klang Valley 2026: ACP RM 52–68 per sq ft, PU metal RM 45–58 per sq ft.
Pick ACP when
- The roof is seen from the street: flat, jointless, modern
- You want a strip ceiling with downlights underneath
- Colour matters: charcoal, white, champagne, wood grain

Pick PU metal when
- Heat matters most: foam core, coolest solid panel
- Kitchen, drying yard or wet area at the back
- Budget is tight: finished white underside, no extra ceiling

Heat, noise and looks
- Heat: PU metal wins, ACP close, zinc far behind
- Rain noise: both quiet, PU metal slightly quieter
- Looks: ACP wins; PU metal shows a joint every metre

20 × 10 ft car porch, installed
- ACP: RM 10,500–13,500 with concealed gutter and strip ceiling
- PU metal: RM 7,000–11,500, 50 mm core for a west-facing roof
- Both: 5-year frame and leak warranty
